Thank you Mark~ Chandler can use all the help he can get in a Blue State.

John on the other hand is spending valued revenue better spent on the bigger picture.

Arizona senator stumps for GOP gubernatorial nominee

July 22, 2006

YARMOUTH, Maine --Sen. John McCain, visiting Maine for the second time in two months, campaigned Saturday with Republican gubernatorial nominee Chandler Woodcock at the Yarmouth Clam Festival.

McCain, who headlined a May 21 fundraiser for David Emery, one of Woodcock's rivals in last month's primary, said he had no problem shifting allegiance and supporting the party's nominee.

McCain visits, shifts fundraising gears
By KEVIN WACK, Staff Writer

YARMOUTH ‹ The last time Sen. John McCain made a public appearance in Maine, he was raising cash for Republican gubernatorial hopeful David Emery.

McCain, who's presumed to be a 2008 presidential candidate, was back in the state Saturday. But this time he was campaigning for Chandler Woodcock, the man who defeated Emery in the GOP primary.

Those of us engaged in the campaign to one degree or another know vastly more details than the average voter. The fact that Ben Dudley has been spouting off and a couple reporters use the same tag does not mean that voters on the whole know Chandler one way or another yet. They do however know that they dont like Baldacci. Our goal is to keep putting out Chandler's positive message for Maine while also highlighting how Baldacci has FAILED to deliver on his promise of helping Maine move forward.

Amen, Henry Clay!

So far, reader comments on the Sunday Telegram article site are positive for Chandler and the Taxpayer Bill of Rights.

Does anyone remember this?

Does anyone remember this?
My son and I were recruited by the Yarmouth GOP to escort Senator McCain around the food circle at the Clam Festival, introducing him to the many volunteers.
Funny, I don’t even remember it being a Woodcock event!
Sadly, the young Republican who recruited us, Peter Newcomb, has since died from cancer, leaving his wife and two young kids far too soon.
Peter “met” me through AMG and coaxed me into volunteering for the town GOP committee.
That was when AMG was much more lively!
But reading through this thread, I see so many of the same notes being played.
