MACHIAS - A former Washington County Sheriff's deputy has filed a lawsuit in Superior Court against a fellow deputy, the deputy's father and a Maine Drug Enforcement agent, alleging they took his political signs.

Former deputy Jeffrey Bishop of Cherryfield also alleges in his lawsuit that he was libeled and defamed by statements made by Rodney Merritt of East Machias, a corporal with the Washington County Sheriff's office.

If the Perps are Democrats....

...then he's wasting his time.

Has a Commiocrat EVER been prosecuted, much less convicted, of Election Fraud or tampering in this state since 1886?

And it ain't 'cause they ain't doin' it, to be sure!

Deputy convicted of tossing foe's campaign sign in river

Jeffrey Bishop, a Washington County sheriff's deputy, was fined $100 after being convicted of attempted criminal mischief for tossing an opponent's campaign sign into the Narraguagus River.

The incident happened last June, 10 days after Bishop lost a three-way race for the Republican nomination for sheriff. Rodney Merritt of East Machias won the primary election but lost on the November ballot.

The liberals in this state routinely bus high school and college students around on election day to register and vote multiple times. Sign theft is small potatoes when it comes to this type of fraud. But with liberals, the ends always justify the means.

Proof of this would be nice to see.

I can't help but believe this whole thing was more a conflict between the DA and Bishop's Attorney, then tossing a sign over board.

MACHIAS — Although he told a Washington County Superior Court judge that he did not plan to appeal his $100 fine, former Sheriff’s Deputy Jeffrey Bishop did just that.

Bishop’s attorney, Donald Brown of Brewer, filed the appeal with the Maine Supreme Judicial Court on June 25.
Uncle Jaque, all of the parties involved are Republicans. The alleged incidents occurred in the wake of the primary election. I know both Walt and Rodney Merritt, and have a real hard time believing any of the accusations against them.
